Committee: Nomination Committee

Description:
A. The nomination committee shall be responsible for nominating a slate of prospective board members and officers representing the organization’s diverse constituency.
B. The committee shall be composed of the immediately past president, the current resident, two current board members and one general members from the Chamber.
C. The immediate past president will serve as the chair of the nomination committee.
D. The slate should be presented for membership voting no later than September 30 of the year.

Description:
A. The program committee is responsible for planning and implementing the programs for the year. A current board member shall chair the committee and may appoint the members of their Committee.

A. The membership committee is responsible for evaluating prospective candidates for membership, as well as promoting the growth of the membership.
B. The membership committee is responsible for creating, publishing and distributing the membership directory by April of each year.
C. The membership committee is responsible for the annual membership drive to be held in January of each year.
D. A current board member shall chair the committee and may appoint the members of their committee.

Description:
A. The annual banquet committee shall be responsible for the annual event to be held each November; this includes, but is not limited to researching and securing a venue, planning the program, speaker, sponsorship, awards and general tasks associated with organizing the event.
B. A current board member shall chair the committee and may appoint the members of their committee.

Description:
A. The public relations committee is responsible for the public relations/community outreach, as well as being a liaison to other Chambers.
B. The chair of the public relations committee is required to attend at least one of the Texas Federation of Asian American Chambers of Commerce meetings.

Alamo AACC Board Member Inducted to San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame
Mayor Announces Chennai, India Sister City Agreement
On Wednesday, February 27, Mayor Phil Hardberger and Chennai, India's Mayor M. Subramaniam signed a Sister City agreement between the two cities. Alamo AACC President, Kausi Subramaniam, was part of an 11 member delegation that traveled to Chennai to sign the agreement. During a teleconference, Mayor Hardberger discussed how San Antonio's Sister City agreement with Chennai will lay the foundation for significant economic and cultural exchanges in such areas as commerce, health, education, and technology.

Free Trade Alliance Trade Mission Led by Mayor Hardberger Returns from China
On Monday, October 1st, representatives from the City of San Antonio, led by Mayor Hardberger and comprised of city and business leaders, returned from a ten-day trade mission to China. Cities included in the trade mission were Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Xian.
